LABOR MARKET AND PROFESSIONAL CAREER BUILDING

Abstract

The article explores the problem associated with the increase of the number of graduates of higher education institutions and unmet need of the labor market for qualified employees. On the basis of the results of sociological research conducted by the Far Eastern Federal University the authors discuss the main reasons for students to choose their specific areas of training, analyze expectations and intentions regarding their future professional activity, self-realization and career. The current situation with youth employment is characterized by a mismatch between demand and supply, between education structures and the labour market.
