Abstract. In his interview, the rector of Ukhta State Technical University expounds how the University incarnates its credo expressed in the Latin catch phrase “A posse ad esse”, elucidates the strategic role of USTU in solving the wide range of regional problems. The areas of the University activities along with training of the personnel for the key regional branches include construction of the objects of social sphere as well as realization of cultural and educative projects.
