1989–1996 – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at KSTU (since 1996 – First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at KNRTU).

Since 1993 – Chair for Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Higher Professional Education (since 2013 – Chair for Department of Engineering Education and Psychology).

Since 1998 – Director for the Institute of Additional Professional Education at KNRTU, Director of Interdisciplinary Regional Center for Professional Development and Additional Education for leaders and specialists of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Research Interests

Engineering pedagogy, integration of higher education and professional development programs, continuing professional development of engineering faculty, general chemical technology.

Vasily Ivanov has published over 400 research and methodology works, including textbooks and study guides, 5 certificates of authorship and patents
