Abstract

The article presents the early results of the sociological research devoted to the wellbeing of the students of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra. Abstract

The article focuses on the problem of professional motivation of University teaching staff in the context of developing “academic capitalism” and presents the results of the empirical study carried out by the authors at the North-Western Institute of management of RANEPA in March–June 2020. Based on the data obtained, it is revealed that teachers, experiencing deep deprivation of their social needs – the needs for respect, recognition and honor, are trying to find their place in the modern system, get out of the grip of double pressure, on the one hand, from the administration, which purposefully imposes rating systems and effective contracts, increasing competition between teachers, and on the other hand – students, who are now positioned as clients of universities. In the context of developing academic capitalism, teachers choose one of two adaptation strategies: 1) conformism as an opportunity to integrate into a constantly changing situation; 2) the practice of quiet protest as an opportunity to demonstrate the inefficiency of the entrepreneurial model of higher education, at least in its current version, and 3) neutral position to protect the classical values of the academic community.

Abstract

Russian universities in recent years are increasingly positioned as centers for the development of Russian regions. As part of their third mission, universities are beginning to be included in the socio-cultural development of the territories. In these processes, student social initiatives and sociocultural projects with their participation are playing an increasingly important role both for the students themselves and their self-realization, and for the Russian regions in the context of increasing their sustainability. The article was based on the materials of two studies: monitoring of the students of the Sverdlovsk region and a survey of the youth of the Sverdlovsk region, implemented in 2020. The authors explore the experience of social participation of university students in the Sverdlovsk region, their involvement in the practice of volunteering in the cultural sphere. The purpose of this article is to characterize the volunteer experience of students in the field of culture, to assess the potential of youth cultural volunteering in the context of solving urgent problems of universities as regional development centers. The authors record an increase in the proportion of students involved in volunteering on a regular basis, with a sufficiently large number of those who, after a one-time participation, are not ready to help in specific volunteer practices. The article deals with groups of students with and without experience of volunteering in the field of culture. The authors prove that students with experience in cultural volunteering are more interested in it and are really involved in the cultural life of their cities. The potential for the development of volunteer activity among a wider range of students lies in the increased interest of young people in major cultural events. The social participation of students in the eventful cultural agenda of cities and regions can increase the competencies of young professionals that are in demand, while it works to form the social responsibility of universities. The identified characteristics of the cultural volunteering of youth in the Sverdlovsk region are also inherent in other Russian regions.

Abstract

The article presents the results of generalization and systematization of scientific and practical information on the variety of types of blended educational technologies used in Russian higher education institutions. This specific product of digitalization causes the greatest interest of researchers and practitioners in the field of education. This systematic review is based on national scientific publications related to the development and practical implementation of educational technologies in higher education. The authors have analyzed 180 papers published between 2016 and 2021 in peer-reviewed scientific journals approved by the Higher Attestation Commission. Methods of qualitative and quantitative content analysis, systems analysis and contextological analysis, as well as analytical grouping, have been used.
Content analysis of publications showed that the main property of blended educational technologies is their variability, which manifests itself through the described system of indicators. However, the structural organization of blended educational technologies models remains the most debatable issue among researches.
The authors have identified and described the main directions in the development of the theory and practical application of blended educational technologies, namely: the formation of the structure and boundaries of the conceptual and terminological field; elaboration of the methodological basis of blended education development and definition of theoretical basis for changing traditional learning systems by designing a learning process based on the mechanisms of pedagogical and digital technologies integration.
It has been established that the empirical studies with the elements of experimental work focused on defining the most effective combinations of traditional and digital educational technologies dominate in the national scientific community. The most popular methods of such integration include rotation of forms and types of learning activity in traditional and digital learning environments, integration of digital and traditional educational technologies based on the Moodle learning management system, as well as inclusion of separate forms and means of e-learning in the educational process.
