Abstract

Modernization of higher education in Russia corresponds to a universal tendency of professionalization of teacher training and strengthening of its practical orientation. At the same time, the theoretical and technological aspects of the practice-oriented methodical training of a future teacher are insufficiently worked out. The author shows that the most perspective approach in this sphere is an immersion in professional reality. This may be achieved by a special form of realization of students’ educational activity – professional and pedagogical event (PEE). The paper characterizes the main types of PEE such as research, professional test, subject lessons organized jointly with pupils of secondary schools. The paper introduces a concept of educational and professional task as a form of training material presentation which specifies a research vector. The example of educational and professional task is given. There are also described the stages of the PEE organization: preparatory, forecasting, organization and realization, reflective.

Abstract

The paper highlights the state and problems of the publishing environment related to technical sciences. The author analyzes the effectiveness of the application of impact factor and auxiliary bibliometric indicators to periodicals on technical sciences and comes to a conclusion that these indicators are not capable of resisting the attempts of manipulation and are often useless in revealing shady publishing practices and unscrupulous scientific journals. The paper substantiates the necessity of additional institutional measures of state regulation for the improvement of the publishing environment of technical sciences for increasing the productivity of researchers’ activity. Among these measures the author proposes the additional criteria for inclusion scientific and technical periodicals into Higher Attestation Commission journal index (e.g. such index as the demand for a certain periodical), financial and reputational support of sectoral journals, organization of international scientific and technical sectoral journals under the support of joint ventures and international associations. These and other measures will facilitate the recovery of the publishing practices of applied and technical sciences through governmental regulation.

Abstract

Students’ scientific research is an integral part of the education process in the Far Eastern State Transport University (former Khabarovsk Institute of Railway Transport Engineers) from the first days of its foundation. The present study addresses to the historical reconstruction of the students’ scientific research development in Khabarovsk Institute of Railway Transport Engineers of the Soviet period, as the students’ research was the most progressive form of training specialists with research and practical skills. From this perspective, it is of the immediate interest to refer to the background of the Far Eastern State Transport University, which celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2017.
